Dear GOP Voters: We Know It Was Never About Grocery Prices
Just say the quiet part out loud, please.
Man, it’s wild seeing how many mental backflips GOP voters are making to try to justify their votes to people who aren’t conservative these days. The most common justification I keep hearing is, “He’s good for the economy.”
Newsflash: Donald Trump tanked America’s economy. Joe Biden and his team were the ones who managed to make our economy have a soft landing and a decent rebound despite the tax cuts put forth by GOP politicians.
Trump and Elon Musk both admitted they want to tank the American economy. The tariffs Trump started placing in his last presidency raised the prices of goods throughout the United States. Factories closed down as a result of conservative policies.
And now, Trump is salivating at waging economic war with other countries — including through the use of more tariffs. Companies have already started to shutter and preemptively cut jobs because of his upcoming policies.
If his voters were honest with us, they’d tell us that they didn’t really believe that Trump was good for the economy.
We all know it was never about the price of eggs.
A lot of GOP voters have entered #FAFO season with their left-leaning loved ones. And, some are trying to do damage control by trying to explain away their vote — a vote that honestly says more about one’s character than they want to admit.
I, personally, have no interest in hearing it. I’m tired of excuses. Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing conservatives try to stay in good graces with liberals by excusing their vote by saying it’s “for the economy?”
There’s a big part of me that just wants to tell the next guy who explains it away to shut their mouths. We know it was never about groceries. Even Trump himself admitted that he can’t lower the price of groceries after he won.
It was never about how “bad” Harris’s campaign was run, either.
Donald Trump literally mimicked giving head on the podium while he was campaigning. Conservatives skewered Harris over made-up rumors about her giving head to a married man.
These standards are not the same.
They never were the same.
And conservatives will never carry the same standards for women as they do for men. They refuse to because they don’t respect women, like women, or want women to live happy lives.
If both candidates were held to the same standard, Trump would have been crucified by the media and conservatives alike. Instead, the media sane-washed the felonious bastard and nitpicked Harris over everything from having a glass of wine to cooking with relatives.
If conservatives were actually believers in gender equality like they claim to be, we wouldn’t be hearing them call to repeal the 19th Amendment. We wouldn’t be hearing them say, “Women are too emotional to lead,” or say that women need to return to the kitchen.
If conservatives respected women as much as they claim to, they wouldn’t have dickheads like Nick Fuentes squealing with joy over the phrase, “Your body, my choice!”
Nothing Harris could have said or done would have made people in the GOP vote for her. They wouldn’t have voted for any woman because they don’t respect female leadership.
It wasn’t about being “tough on crime,” either.
If Donald Trump was really worried about rampant crime, he would have curtailed gun rights, expanded mental healthcare, and created anti-recidivism programs for inmates.
Instead, he went hard on illegal immigration and is going after ACTUAL NATURALIZED CITIZENS through a proposed denaturalization process. Oh, wait, if you wanted to be “tough on crime,” why did you vote for a felon?
Because it was never about being tough on crime.
It wasn’t about “saving babies,” either.
I know a couple of people who claimed they were pro-life so they voted GOP. If they’re pro-life, why do they vote against policies that reduce abortion — such as nationalized healthcare, state-run childcare for moms, and paid parental leave?
Why does the life of the mother not matter? Women are dying in red states because of abortion bans. Why does the quality of life that those babies have not factor into anything?
The reason is simple: it was never about saving babies. It was about hurting women and punishing women for having the audacity to ask for control over their bodies, sexuality, and family.
Conservatives just need to say they couldn’t handle seeing a Black female president.
You know, I’d have a little more respect for conservatives if they just admitted that they hate women, minorities, and immigrants. I still wouldn’t respect them enough to like them, but I would at least say they’re not hypocrites.
It was never about groceries.
It was never about crime or welfare.
It was never about being pro-life.
It was all about hurting others. And I, for one, am sick of them trying to play it off like anything other than hatred, brainwashing, and a disdain for human rights.
So go ahead, conservatives, tell us the truth.
Say you’re a bigot. Go ahead and call us the slurs you want to. Tell us how we don’t deserve the same rights and opportunities as you. Go on. Be open about your hate. We know it’s there.
Go ahead and say you’re so weak and pathetic that you have to have laws bully people in less powerful positions than you to feel better. Say you don’t care that you’re hurting yourself with your vote as long as you hurt others.
Go ahead. Just tell the truth. We’re waiting. Just don’t expect it to make your already-lost relationships come back. You’ve burned that bridge with too many of us already.
