Lately, I’ve seen a lot of complaints from GOP voters who claimed that they “never voted for this,” and I need to talk about it. The truth is that, if you did vote for Trump, you absolutely voted for everything happening right now. You voted for ICE, you voted for gutting insurance, you voted for the tariffs, everything.

Don’t you remember how gleeful you and your fellow party members were when Trump won? Don’t you remember how often you said you’d “end the woke virus” and “end DEI?”

Almost every single Democrat I know had at least one right-wing voter rub the Trump win in our faces. Y’all are sore winners — and yes, many of us remembered how you treated us in the days after.

You can’t say you didn’t vote for this or that you didn’t know this would happen. Everyone had tried to warn you that Trump was going to hurt people. It just didn’t matter to you because you thought, for one reason or another, that you were special.

Don’t you remember all the warnings we gave about Project 2025, or all the times your loved ones begged you not to vote for this mess? How many times was it that you saw “sensationalist” warnings saying another Trump presidency would destroy our country?

Did you think that we were lying? Did you think that seeing all the women, LGBTQ+, and economists begging Americans not to vote red were trying to fleece you? Nobel Prize laureates even came out to say that he would wreck America and you didn’t listen.

The days after the election were awful, just because of how so many right-wing people behaved. So many Republicans genuinely seemed to revel and celebrate in what they knew would cause suffering in others. I can’t name how often I’ve heard phrases like “Cry harder, libtard!” thrown in my direction.

Or, you know, how we warned so many people that women’s rights were going to vanish. Don’t you remember how Nick Fuentes started gloating, “Your bodies, our choice!”?

Let’s say that you voted for Trump for “religious” reasons — aka your pastor at your local megachurch told you to. Gee, doesn’t the Bible warn about the Antichrist behaving like Trump? Why didn’t you listen to BIBLICAL warnings?

Did you realize that maternal death rates and newborn death rates are up in GOP-run states? Are you okay with babies and new moms starvingHow is that pro-life? Or do you just not care as long as the baby is born?

Trump is a known rapist and his best friend was a child trafficker. Does that sound like Jesus to you? Almost every single person who ever got close to him is worse off because of it. He’s literally the opposite of “love thy neighbor, love the foreigner” Jesus.

I really don’t want to hear any GOP voters feign ignorance here. The warning signs were there and there were also warnings about what was to come up at the inauguration. Trump was even noted as a Russian agent in 2021, but you ignored that.

Trump admitted to several crimes already and you are shocked that he’s acting like a criminal?! Hell, let’s look at the inauguration. Elon Musk straight up did a Nazi salute as part of the inauguration.

But even before that, there were signs. The Holocaust Museum issued a warning about fascism. The Holocaust’s survivors warned people about Trump too. And now, right now, you’re surprised to hear that Trump is goose-stepping us down the same path as Adolf Hitler?!

Nope. You don’t get to do that.

People are being separated from their families. Children are vanishing into camps. School children are being denied food — even when that’s their only meal of the day. Women are dying from preventable things. Your bills are going through the roof and employment is plummeting, which likely is the only reason you’re actually crying over any of this shit.

This is what you voted for. The GOP ran on a platform of punishing people. Trump admitted that he didn’t care about you and that he just wanted your vote. Hell, he even said that he “loves the poorly educated,” so why are you surprised that he was ready to use your ignorance against you.

Well, this is what you got. Surprisingly, the GOP didn’t mince words. They were upfront about their white nationalist dog whistles. They were upfront about their plans and you voted for them because you thought it wouldn’t hurt you…why?

SMILE! Because your vote made sure others hurt more than you. That’s what you wanted, right? Grin as you declare bankruptcy while your leader destabilizes us more. This is what you desired and you got it.

I’ll be blunt: people don’t cut ties over normal politics. They cut ties when someone does something so fucked up that they can no longer tolerate being around you. In other words, they cut ties over ethics in this case.

You chose Trump, Bondi, Vance, and a bunch of Nazis over your own flesh and blood. You chose to put people who don’t even know who the hell you are over your family, your neighbors, and your community. Was it worth it?

Go ahead, revel. You got what you wanted.

Another common cry I hear is how often Republicans expect Democrats to save them whenever a policy they push through screws them over. Well, tough luck. Democrats can’t save red states from themselves anymore — nor do many of us want to, either.

Red states have consistently been the biggest recipients of federal funding while blue states have been the typical “wallets” of the nation. Almost every blue state voter I know is tired of subsidizing this system. We don’t want to save red states anymore.

For decades, Republicans would get into power, destroy a bunch of institutions, strip vital funding for important civil goods, and then cry about it when a Democrat came into power. Democrats would fix it up, Republicans would screech like rabid cats about tax hikes, and then the programs would get gutted again.

Well, the GOP runs all three branches of government. They are going to do what they want and short of the military stepping in, they are not going to stop. This is what we were trying to prevent and what you asked for. You got it.

Sorry, you have to take accountability for what you brought into this country. You are going to have to admit you were wrong. You are going to have to admit why you voted for him. It’s okay to admit you were propagandized and radicalized, but please, admit you knew he was going to do this.

Next, you need to start voting for leftists and progressives. The reason the left is popular is because leftists realize we all lose if one group loses. It’s not being a “bleeding heart,” so to speak. It’s being realistic about the damage that marginalizing people does to a society.

With your vote, you betrayed your friends, your family, your neighbors, and your countrymen. You helped bring about a genocide. So, no, a “Sorry,” doesn’t excuse it. This is bigger than a simple apology. Get your work boots on, and start rebuilding America — civil rights and all.
